This blog is about black and white photography. Black and white photography has always been my passion. I believe that a black and white image has more impact than a colour image.

Outing, Central Market

Street performer, Central Market, KL July 8th 2008
My original plan was to shoot Fruit Day in Central Merket. However, I'd rather do something else. The number of illegal fruit hawker is more than the number of fruit hawker participate in the program. So, I wandered off the alleys new the market. I spotted this street performer singing "The land of the rising sun".

Well, I managed to persuade this lady to join, and she sure knew how to have fun.

Everybody has a partner, July 8th. 2008

I was having teh tarik (local version of tea-condensed milk shake) when i spotted this ash-tray. "Semua orang ada pasangan" literally means everybody has a partner.

Onions

Onions from my little garden. July 2008
Onions (Allium cepa) are my permanent little garden plant. The reason is simple; they are easy to grow and make my cooking tastier. As my daughter Maisarah said, “I couldn’t imagine that some people actually hate onions. They taste good!”My superstitious neighbor (they are from Penang) used to hang onions and dried chilies on his front gate to ward off bad spirits. Well, I don’t know about evil spirits, but regular use of onions (and stay away from cigarette smoke) will definitely keep you healthy. Onions are used for diuretic, healing wounds, and clearing throat infections. No, I didn’t eat onions for those purposes, they taste good especially in jemput-jemput (Malaysian balls).
