This blog is about black and white photography. Black and white photography has always been my passion. I believe that a black and white image has more impact than a colour image.

Tekala Waterfall 2

Tekala Waterfall. May 31st 2007.
Tekala Waterfall is an excellent spot for family outings. There are other waterfalls in the area but I prefer Tekala because the place is fairly safe and easily accessible. Gabai Waterfall is near to my place but it is not safe especially if you want to go there with your family. The steps to the waterfall are too steep and not well-maintained. The secluded area made you an easy target to robbers. I heard many people got mugged there. So, if you're in the neighbourhood, I would recommend Tekala.

In this photo, I fit the camera on to a tripod dan shot the picture using slow shutter speed to get the soft effect of the flowing water.

Website Providing Poster

Sometimes when I viewed my photos, I thought it would be nice if I could blow them into poster-sized pictures and frame them. Then I would hang them on the walls for all to see. As I browsed the Internet, I accidently stumbled into websites that actually sell posters--classic photos. One of such sites is Art.com. Here, you can buy classic posters of popular person, such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and James Dean. The bw photos of Marillyn was stunning. No wonder she was so hot. The picture below is extracted from Art.com.

You can get the posters by ordering the at the following link.

An Old Wooden Shop in Kajang

An Old Wooden Shop in Kajang, May 17th 2007.
This building is a "landmark" of Kajang. You can't miss it. The wooden wall is fallen apart. It's amazing people are doing business as usual in this building. Kiand of scary for me, coz it seems the building can collapse anytime.

I bought this Yew Hong Chow harmonica at Yamaha Music School in Kajang, late last year. This G note harmonica was made in Singapore.

I took this photograph from Observation Tower in Little Genting, Ampang. It was a hazy day. I had to increase the contrast using Picasa to make the buildings look clearer.

Inca Music Player

Inca Music Player, Central Market, May 6th, 2007
Today is a good day for me. I got to meet lovely and interesting people. Today’s music was beautiful too. This Inca man played “woman in love.” You should hear the song. It practically can lift you spirit.... high. If you are a woman.... you would be in love again. The magic of music seems to whisper in my ears... If you were there, there and then you will run into my arms.

Train Ride

Train Ride, May 3 2007
I took a train (KTM Commuter) on May 3rd to Putra World Trade Centre. The funny thing about KTM seats is that some of the seats are facing each other. The space between the seats is so small that you practically rub your knees to the knees of the person in front of you. The girl in the photograph was sitting in front of me. She was staring out of the window, mmmm... possibly trying to avoid eye-contact with me. If there’s eye contact, I might start a conversation with her. You see, many of young Malaysians are very timid.

The Late Supper

The Late Supper, May 2007-05-04

It was about 2.00 in the morning. Suddenly I heard a grumbelly in my tummy and there’s a sudden urge to devour a crab. My wife always ensure that there are at least 3 to 4 steamed crabs packed into a container in the freezer of my house. Anytime I have that urge to help myself with steamed crabs, I would place the crabs into a microwave oven and “nuke” it for 1 minute. In the wee hour, my late supper was a crab dipped in “Vinaigre de vin de xeres” and a nice cup of Davidoff “fine aroma” coffee. Mmmmmm.... home sweet home.
